Open Mold Design (Non-Enclosed Cavity):
Unlike a cold heading machine that relies on a closed die cavity to form the screw, a heading machine uses an open-type mold to shape only the screw head. The shank passes through the mold, allowing screws of any length to be formed.
Not Restricted by Feeding Stroke:
Heading machines use long rods or fixed-length raw material, rather than coil-fed wire limited by feeding systems. This allows the machine to produce extra-long screws (e.g., 1 meter, 2 meters or more), depending on the length of the input material.
Only the Head Is Formed by the Machine:
The heading machine is mainly used to form the screw head. The shaft remains unaltered in this step and is processed later through thread rolling, turning, or machining. This method requires less forming force and is ideal for long shank screw production.
Ultra-long screws (lengths over 200mm or even 1000mm)
Extended hex socket screws, hex head screws, flange screws
Fasteners used in construction and thermal insulation anchoring
Long wood screws, self-drilling screws used in wood or steel structures
